Are Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart Married? Inside Their Relationship

Two months ago, Eric Dane appeared to debut his romance with director Janell Shirtcliff at the premiere of his Prime Video series Countdown. The pair held hands and smiled up at one another as they walked the carpet at Los Angeles’ Harmony Gold theater June 18.

While neither Eric—who previously sparked romance rumors with Priya Jain—nor Janell have publicly commented on their relationship status (E! News reached out for comment at the time, but has yet to hear back), their sighting may have led some fans to wonder, wait a minute, isn’t he married?

Technically, yes—to Rebecca Gayheart, who celebrates her 54th birthday Aug. 12. However, their relationship, much like his hit medical show, has gone through several seasons.

After dating for less than a year, Rebecca and Eric tied the knot in October 2004.

“It’s probably one of the least interesting stories in the world,” the Grey’s Anatomy actor told Flaunt magazine in 2008, per People. “It went basically like this: ‘You wanna go out?’ ‘Yeah, sure.’ Ten months later, we were married.”
