Sarah Jessica Parker Details “Tough Decision” to End AJLT

Sarah Jessica Parker can’t help but wonder what the end of And Just Like That means.

However, despite being hard to do, she’s certain it was time to officially say goodbye to the Sex and the City revival and end Carrie Bradshaw’s story.

“It was a very tough decision,” Sarah Jessica—who played Carrie during both series—said in an Oct. 2 interview on CBS Mornings. “I’m not sure what that decision means ’cause I could just be on hiatus. But it was a difficult decision.”

Indeed, it wasn’t just hard for her, but admittedly for writer and director Michael Patrick King, who stunned viewers when he announced that season three would bring And Just Like That to a close mid-season.

“I think Michael thought a lot about it,” she said. “And I think it’s out of respect for this singular professional experience that you have to consider what you want to do and have you done it. And sometimes it’s best to gracefully walk away when things feel really right and energetic. Instead of squeezing and exploiting people’s generosity and hospitality.”
