Unpacking the Fallout from Celebrities’ Biggest Cheating Scandals

Chris Martin’s Ex Gwyneth Paltrow Jokes About Coldplay Scandal as New Astronomer Spokesperson
It was the Coldplay concert that shook the universe—or at the very least the internet.
Last month, now-former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot tried to hide from the kiss cam after the jumbotron caught them cuddling at the Gillette Stadium show in Foxborough, MA. The awkward moment led singer Chris Martin to joke “either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”
Reader, it certainly doesn’t seem to be just the latter. Both employees, who’ve yet to comment, were fired—and the data and technology company called in Martin’s ex Gwyneth Paltrow to issue a cheeky response as a temporary spokesperson.
“Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days and they wanted me to answer the most common ones,” the GOOP founder said in a July 25 video. “We’ve been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation.”
Indeed, the DataOps company is now, according to new interim CEO Pete DeJoy, a household name. As he wrote on LinkedIn, “The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team.”
